Forty days after Jesus rose from the dead, he ascended into heaven to rule and govern all things for the good of his people. Jesus’ ascension proves that his life, death, and resurrection were just the beginning of his saving activity on earth. Now he extends his powerful, saving rule through his people as they share the gospel. Yes, his power is at work in and through us to overcome temporary fears, embolden our witness, and enliven our service to others. Because Jesus rose and ascended our purpose has no end.
